Clinical Study of Arumalon in the Treatment of Gonarthrosis

Abstract
|
|
|
Twenty seven patients were subjected to clinical . study of Arumalorr in the treatment of Gonarthrosis in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from May 1990 to December 1990. But in the course of treatment, only twenty one patients could be followed.
The treatment regimen was initiated with ´I ampoule(2 ml) of Arumalon intramuscular injection two times a week until a total of 15 injections had been given. Then after one month later, the treatment regimen had been repeated as same as first course of treatment.
Result were as follows
1. In 21 cases of patients, male were 12(57%), female were 9(43%) and average age was 62 years old.
2. The diagnosis was gonarthrosis 6 cases of unilateral left, 7 cases of unilateral right, and 8 cases of bilateral involvement.
3. After the course of treatment, there was marked relief of pain in 85% of patients.
4. Side effects were not seen in any patient.
5. It is concluded that Arumalon appears to be a safe and tolerable drug. i.e. relieve the pain and joint swelling and also improve the range of joint motion.
